Your images stay on your device

Photobun is an editor that runs in your browser (or as a desktop app). Images and documents you open are processed locally on your device. We do not upload, store or look at your images. AI background removal also runs on your device.

The one exception is the optional AI Image Generator: if you enter your own OpenAI API key, your prompt and any reference images you attach are sent directly from your browser to OpenAI under OpenAI's terms. Your key is stored only in your browser and is never sent to us.

Accounts (optional)

You can use Photobun without an account. If you create one we store your email address, a securely hashed password (or your Google account ID, name and profile picture if you use Google Sign-In), your preferred language, and your license and purchase records. We use this only to sign you in, keep your ad-free license, and send receipts and essential account emails. We never sell your data.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we receive the order amount, currency, status and the email you used, which we keep for accounting and to send your invoice.

Cookies and advertising

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. Free users see ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings; see also how Google uses data from partner sites. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message. Ad-free users do not load any ad code.

Your rights

You can ask us to export or delete your account data at any time by emailing [email protected]. Purchase records required by tax law are kept for the legally required period.

Children

Photobun is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

We will post any changes to this policy on this page.
