How to Remove Background from Image
- Click Open an image and choose a photo.

Automatic removal works best when the subject stands out clearly from the background. Busy scenes, glass and fine hair may need a few brush strokes on the mask, which is much quicker in a full editor than uploading the photo again to a single-purpose website.

Is the background remover free?
Yes. It is free with no limit on the number of images and no watermark, and the result keeps the original resolution of your photo.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The model is downloaded once and then runs locally in your browser or in the desktop app. That makes it suitable for private photos and unreleased products.
How do I make a transparent PNG?
After the background is removed, choose File › Export › Export As and pick PNG or WebP. Both keep transparency; JPEG has no transparency, so avoid it for cut-outs.
What if the cut-out isn't perfect?
The result is a layer mask. Paint with black to hide more and with white to bring areas back, or use Select Subject and the selection tools to refine tricky edges such as hair.
Can I replace the background with a colour or another photo?
Yes. Add a layer below the cut-out and fill it with a colour, or bring in another picture with File › Place Embedded. A drop shadow from Layer Style helps the subject sit naturally on the new background.
